If you look at all our projects you probably won't find similarities. That's because we aren't focused on what we want to build, we are focused on what our clients needs are and what they want their finished product to be. We operate around 3 steps:

Understand – this is accomplished by listening to our clients, and asking questions that help them think through what their vision is for their project.

Organize – compiling all the necessary information and resources to effectively move to action.

Execution – doing what we say we'll do.

Company History

Fisher Group Inc. began construction in 2000. Chad Fisher the owner began framing houses in 1993 and throughout his time at Iowa State while earning his Architecture degree. After several years of working with a local commercial contracting company, Chad set out to start his own general contracting company to focus on custom home building and commercial construction. Chad's interest and talent in design is evident in the projects he is involved in. Fisher Group focuses on 3 elements when working with a client: Understand, Organize, Execute. Understand the client's needs and wishes. Organize the plan of action. Execute. Chad understands that each client is different and brings with them different ideas for what their project needs to be. Fisher Group builds Custom Homes, Multi-family projects, Commercial Buildings and also does Construction Management and Land Development.

Our People

Chad Fisher, Owner

Chad Fisher graduated in 1999 from Iowa State University's College of Design with a degree in Architecture. During his time at Iowa State he began framing for Showcase Homes in Des Moines, an executive residential home builder. In 1998 he took his experience with him to Koester Construction; a Des Moines based Commercial contracting company. As a project engineer he was responsible for estimating, contracting and negotiating multi-million dollar commercial projects. He worked directly with clients to help value engineer projects to meet their budget guidelines. Shortly thereafter, Chad began working hand-in-hand with the owner of Koester construction on searching out and creating new projects. He was now responsible for creating and engineering many multi-million dollar projects from start to finish. In 2000 Chad created Ideal Development Company to create land development opportunities for him and others. In 2002 Chad formally left Koester Construction Company to focus entirely on Ideal Develont. That same year Ideal Development changed its name to Fisher/Pittman Inc. which is now The Fisher Group Inc. Currently in its fifth year, The Fisher Group is a multi-million dollar General Contracting and Construction Management company. Chad serves as owner and president of The Fisher Group and is a partner in several real estate holdings companies

Joel Clutts, Vice President

Joel Clutts is a 1997 graduate of The University of Iowa (B.A. Psychology). He has worked in marketing, organizational and operations capacities for several Fortune 500 companies. With Wells Fargo Financial Leasing Joel established and maintained relationships with regional and national businesses. His responsibilities included marketing, sales and operations for his region as well as working with his clients to establish effective internal marketing, sales and financing processes. Joel took this consultative role with him to The Principal Financial Group where he was responsible for a corporate wide marketing team established to capitalize on cross business unit marketing tactics and strategies. He was also in charge of online marketing coordination, multiple business unit direct marketing tracking and the cross business unit customer experience project. In February of 2004, Joel took a position with The Fisher Group Inc in Des Moines. He is responsible for Marketing and Operations for the company and is a partner in several real estate holdings companies.
